Mets pitcher Kyle Farnsworth locked down his first save of the season Monday, allowing one hit in a scoreless ninth inning in his team's 2-0 win over the Cardinals.
Farnsworth let the leadoff hitter reach base but promptly erased the threat by inducing a ground-ball double play. He should continue to man the ninth inning for the foreseeable future. Farnsworth owns a 0.96 ERA and 6:2 K:BB ratio in 9 1/3 innings.
