The Mariners optioned relief pitcher Blake Beavan to Triple-A Omaha Wednesday.
Beavan made the Mariners rotation out of spring training but was sent to the bullpen after surrendering five earned runs in each of his first two starts. He didn't fare much better in the bullpen, allowing nine earned runs in 10 innings of relief.
He was replaced on the 25-man roster by Lucas Luetge.
