The Padres picked up a familiar face Sunday, placing claiming relief pitcher Chris Rearick from the Rangers, who had claimed Rearick from the Padres on Aug. 26 only to designate him for assignment a day later.

Rearick made his MLB debut and appeared in five games with the Padres this season, allowing four runs in three innings. He was 0-3 with a 5.23 ERA in 37 games with Triple-A El Paso.
