The Phillies have released pitcher Michael Stutes Wednesday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Stutes tossed just three innings this spring, allowing seven earned runs. He was removed from the team's 40-man roster in early March. Stutes had a 4.58 ERA in 17 2/3 innings last year.
