Right-hander Shane Greene was removed after three innings of his Wednesday start for Triple-A Toledo, which indicates he will pitch Sunday for the Tigers against Minnesota, according to MLive.com.

He threw just 38 pitches, which could allow him to throw again on go on short rest.

Detroit needs a starter for that game after sending down Ken Ryan on Tuesday night.

Greene failed in his first stint with the Tigers this season after a fast start. He lost his last four decisions and was demoted with a 5.82 ERA.
