Yankees center fielder Slade Heathcott went 2 for 5 with his first career homer in his team's 14-1 win over the Royals on Monday.

After the Yankees racked up 11 runs on four homers before the fourth out of the game could be recorded, the team was able to cruise to a win. Heathcott smacked his two-run homer in the seventh inning to increase his team's lead to 13 runs.

"Is this real?" Heathcott said to NJ.com. "I come back in the dugout, and I see a lot of the veteran guys, [Brian] McCann, CC [Sabathia], guys like that, congratulating me. It's awesome."

He's 5 for 12 in his first three starts in the majors.

"I've known Slade for a while, since he got drafted, and he's been through his share of injuries," left fielder Brett Gardner said. "I'm very, very happy for him."
