One of the best pure hitters from the 2023 prep class, Aidan Miller opened 2024 at Single-A earned two promotions, finishing his first full pro season with five games at Double-A. He was one of the older high schoolers in his class, so Miller will turn 21 in June, but he has performed well enough to stay ahead of his peers on the march to the majors. He spent the majority of his season at High-A, where he slashed .258/.353/.444 with six homers, 12 steals, an 11.6 percent walk rate and a 22.1 percent strikeout rate in 58 games. Miller hasn't moved off shortstop yet, but it has long been thought that third base might be his long-term home. It's unclear whether he'll end up being a power-over-hit player, or just a well-rounded hitter who hits for average and power. The righty-hitting Miller stole 23 bases on 28 tries last year, but public scouting outlets give him average run times at best. He should get a long run at Double-A to begin the year, before potentially finishing the year at Triple-A, which could set up a 2026 MLB debut.

  • Phillies' Aidan Miller: Cut from big-league camp

The Phillies reassigned Miller to minor-league camp Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Miller was one of a handful of cuts the Phillies made as they trim down the number of bodies in big-league camp. The top prospect finished last season at Double-A Reading and is likely headed back there to start the 2025 campaign. Miller is tracking toward a potential debut in 2026.

  • Phillies' Aidan Miller: Bumped to Reading

Miller was promoted to Double-A Reading on Sunday, MLB Pipeline reports. Miller was promoted to High-A Jersey Shore on June 10, and he maintained a 117 wRC+ across 258 plate appearances at the level. A first-round pick in 2023, Miller continues to move quickly through the organization as he'll be only 20 years old when the 2025 season kicks off.

  • Phillies' Aidan Miller: Climbs to High-A

The Phillies promoted Miller from Single-A Clearwater to High-A Jersey Shore on Monday, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports. Miller had been stuck in a 6-for-41 slump at the plate over his final 12 games at Clearwater, but he didn't compromise his plate discipline amid the dry spell, as he had still walked at a 20.4 percent clip. The 20-year-old was able to force his way to Jersey Shore after slashing .275/.401/.483 on the season at Clearwater while going 9-for-10 in stolen base attempts. He's regarded as one of the top lower-level prospects in the Phillies' system.

  • Phillies' Aidan Miller: Best hitter in Florida State League

Miller is slashing .337/.420/.570 with four home runs, nine steals and a 19 percent strikeout rate in 100 plate appearances for Single-A Clearwater. Seen as one of the top prep hitters in last year's draft, Miller played only 10 games at Single-A last year, and he has dominated in a return to the Florida State League. Only Nick Morabito, who is over a year older than Miller and has since been promoted to High-A, has a higher wRC+ among qualified FSL hitters, so Miller should be getting his own promotion to High-A in the coming weeks. While most evaluators expect Miller to end up at third base, he has played only shortstop and designated hitter thus far in pro ball.
