  • Tigers' Bubba Derby: Returns to action at Double-A

    Derby (undisclosed) was activated from Double-A Erie's 7-day injured list Thursday and struck out one over 1.1 scoreless innings in his return to action Friday.

    Derby made five appearances for Erie before landing on the IL in mid-May. After making four rehab appearances between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Single-A Lakeland, Derby was cleared to rejoin Erie's bullpen.

  • Tigers' Bubba Derby: Lands on injured list

    Derby (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Erie on Thursday, Emily Waldon of Baseball America reports.

    Derby made five relief appearances with Erie to begin the season, and he posted a 6.35 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in 5.2 innings. The nature and severity of his injury aren't yet known, and a timetable for his return hasn't been revealed.
