Astros' Ralph Garza: Optioned back to Triple-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Garza was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land following Sunday's win over the Yankees, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Garza was recalled last Thursday and wound up logging 1.2 scoreless innings while picking up the win in Sunday's dramatic comeback victory. He struck out three, though he clearly didn't have great control, as he also issued three free passes. Garza will return to Sugar Land for the time being but figures to be a strong candidate to rejoin the Astros' bullpen when the club becomes in need of another arm some time after the All-Star break.

Garza was recalled by the Astros on Thursday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Garza was sent down Monday, but he'll now return to the major-league club after Brooks Raley was placed on the injured list Thursday due to health and safety protocols. The right-hander was relatively effective in his most recent stint in the big leagues, as he posted a 3.24 ERA and 1.44 WHIP while striking out 10 in 8.1 innings across seven appearances.

The Astros optioned Garza to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The reliever posted a 3.24 ERA in 8.1 innings after being recalled June 11. Garza had a 10:3 K:BB in those seven appearances. Given his success, it wouldn't be surprising to see the righty back with Houston at some point this season, especially considering the bullpen's struggles of late.

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Astros recalled Garza from Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Garza was called up to the big leagues for the first time May 26 but was sent back to Triple-A just five days later. With Enoli Paredes (shoulder) landing on the injured list, Garza is set to rejoin Houston's bullpen ahead of Friday's series opener against the Twins. The right-hander has allowed just one hit across eight scoreless innings in Triple-A this season, but he struggled in his lone major-league outing May 29, allowing two runs in one inning of work against the Padres.

Astros' Ralph Garza: Sent to Triple-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Astros optioned Garza to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Along with Garza, Houston sent reliever Andre Scrubb to Sugar Land to make room on the active roster for Blake Taylor (ankle) and Jose Urquidy (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list. Garza made one appearance out of the Houston bullpen in his first stint in the big leagues, giving up three runs (two earned) in his lone inning of work.

Astros' Ralph Garza: Receives first big-league call-up
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Astros selected Garza's contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Houston placed Lance McCullers (shoulder) and transferred Josh James (hip) to the 10- and 60-day injured lists, respectively, to clear room on the active 26-man roster and 40-man roster for Garza. The 27-year-old covered at least two innings in all three of his relief appearances for Sugar Land this season, so he should be capable of giving Houston some length out of the bullpen while he's up from the minors.

Astros' Ralph Garza: Placed on injured list
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Garza was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday for an undisclosed reason, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Garza was working with the Astros' 60-man roster over the start of camp for developmental purposes, but he'll now miss some time for an undisclosed reason. The right-hander spent the last three seasons at the Triple-A level. Over 78 innings with Triple-A Round Rock in 2019, Garza posted a 4.04 ERA and 1.09 WHIP.
