Adam Lind: Released by Red Sox
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind was released by the Red Sox on Wednesday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

The veteran reportedly had an opt-out in his contract which could be exercised if he wasn't on the major-league roster by Wednesday. Lind hit a strong .303/.362/.513 in a part-time role for the Nationals last season, though his minor-league numbers are poor this year, as he's struggled to a .245/.300/.424 line. That may or may not be enough for another team to take a shot on the 35-year-old as a potential platoon bat.

Red Sox's Adam Lind: Sticking with Boston
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind has elected not to opt out of his minor-league contract with the Red Sox and will continue to play for Triple-A Pawtucket, Chris Cotillo of reports.

Lind's contract contains a clause that would have allowed him to become a free agent if he weren't promoted to Boston by July 1, but he'll stick with the organization for at least a little while longer with the hope of earning his way back to the majors. The 34-year-old, who is slashing .263/.321/.455 across 109 plate appearances with Pawtucket, seems unlikely to receive the call to the big club so long as Mitch Moreland remains healthy and productive as Boston's primary first baseman.

Red Sox's Adam Lind: Joins Red Sox on minors deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on Tuesday, Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston reports.

Lind opted out of his minor-league contract with the Yankees on Friday after slashing .241/.302/.414 over 63 plate appearances with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to start the season. He'll report to Triple-A Pawtucket and serve as first base depth for the Red Sox.

Adam Lind: Let go Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind was released by the Yankees on Friday.

Lind signed a minor-league deal with New York in mid-April and was mostly providing organizational depth at first base. He was stationed at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before the Yankees decided to part ways with the 34-year-old.

Yankees' Adam Lind: Re-signs with Yankees
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.

Lind has latched back on with the Yankees after being released by the team in spring training. The veteran first baseman is expected to report to extended spring training before joining Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre or potentially even the big club. He'll provide an insurance option at first base should Greg Bird's recovery from an ankle injury take a turn for the worse, as it did last season.

Adam Lind: Released by Yankees
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind was released by the Yankees on Wednesday.

Lind had joined the team's camp as a non-roster invitee less than two weeks ago. He will look to latch on with a new organization in the coming weeks following this move. In 2017, he hit .303 with a .513 slugging percentage over 116 appearances for the Nationals. In addition, he swatted 14 home runs and added 59 RBI while playing left field in addition to first base.

Yankees' Adam Lind: Joins Yankees camp
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind signed a minor-league deal with an invite to spring training Friday.

Lind hit a strong .303/.362/.513 in 301 plate appearances for the Nationals last season, his highest marks in all three categories since 2014. The veteran will likely be battling Tyler Austin for a role as a bench bat and the primary backup at first base to Greg Bird. Austin is hardly an insurmountable obstacle, as he's hit just .236/.294/.447 in 136 career major-league plate appearances and is already 26, so Lind has a fairly clear path to a roster spot. His playing time will likely be limited initially, but if the oft-injured Bird goes down again for a portion of the 2018 season, Lind has a shot at temporary fantasy relevance as a power hitter in one of the best parks for lefty power in the league.

Adam Lind: Heads to free agency
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind will become a free agent after the Nationals declined to pick up his mutual option for 2018, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.

Lind bounced back after a disappointing 2016 campaign, hitting .303/.362/.513 with 14 homers in 116 games (301 plate appearances) for the Nationals last season. Still, he was owed $5 million next season and didn't have a direct avenue to everyday at-bats, so the Nationals decided to part ways with the 34-year-old. He joins a large group of first basemen available in free agency this offseason, so he could have some difficulty finding a favorable deal.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Cranks out 10th homer of season Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind went to 2-for-4 with a solo homer Friday against the Mets.

Lind launched his 10th bomb of the season in the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough, as the Nationals lost by a score of 4-2. He has an excellent .295 batting average to go along with a solid .490 slugging percentage in just 210 at-bats, and he's been a reliable fantasy option this year when in the lineup.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Out of lineup Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Houston, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.

Lind will retreat to the bench after starting six of the past seven games and going 3-for-20 during that span. Although Alejandro De Aza continues to see regular starts in right, Lind remains a solid contributor off the bench while earning regular starts in left and at first base.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Takes seat Tuesday against Angels
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Angels, Mark Zuckerman of reports.

After receiving playing time in left field over the last several games, Lind will take a seat against left-handed pitcher Tyler Skaggs. In his place will be Howie Kendrick, who will bat leadoff.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Making fourth straight start in left field
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind will start in left field and bat fifth in the first game of a doubleheader Sunday against the Giants, Mark Zuckerman of reports.

Lind has been deployed at first base or designated hitter for much of his career, but the Nationals will deploy him in left field for the fourth consecutive contest due to the team's extensive injuries in the outfield. With all of Adam Eaton (knee), Jayson Werth (toe), Ryan Raburn (back), Trea Turner (wrist) and Bryce Harper (knee) on the disabled list and Howie Kendrick recently having gotten over a back issue, Lind should continue to handle at least semi-regular work in the outfield for the time being, at least against right-handed pitching. Considering Lind is hitting .317 with nine home runs in 198 plate appearances this season, he could provide some sneaky value in deeper leagues where he's still available.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Earns sixth start in seven games
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind will start in left field and bat sixth Monday against the Marlins, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.

It's the sixth start in seven games for Lind, who has been able to carve out some regular run in the Nationals' lineup thanks to injuries thinning the outfield ranks. While Lind is miscast as a left fielder, he's proven more than capable at the plate this season, batting .320 with nine home runs and 37 RBI in just 170 plate appearances. He's worth a look in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues while he's seeing at-bats on a relatively steady basis.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Tees off Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind hit a two-run home run Sunday in a 3-1 win over the Rockies.

Lind's blast off Rockies starter Jon Gray in the fifth inning was all the Nationals would need to earn their 62nd win of the season. The veteran is now hitting a solid .320 through 150 at-bats in a depth role this year, though his pedestrian nine homers and 37 RBI bring down his fantasy value.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Homers again Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Angels.

Playing in an American League park afforded the Nats the opportunity to get Lind's red-hot stick into the lineup as their designated hitter. He's now 7-for-10 since the All-Star break and has homered in each of his last two starts.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Slugs seventh homer in Sunday's start
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's rout of the Reds.

While Ryan Zimmerman's resurgence this season has kept Lind on the bench more often than not, the 34-year-old is putting together an impressive year in his own right, slashing .312/.373/.544 with seven homers and 31 RBI in only 142 plate appearances. Should the injury bug find Zimmerman again, Lind would become a priority add in almost every fantasy format.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Hitting well in limited role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind has a .300/.365/.508 slash line with six home runs in 137 plate appearances this season.

The Nationals' reserve first baseman has been one of the best bench options in the league this season, and is slashing .357/.419/.714 as a pinch hitter in 28 at-bats. Lind has a handful of appearances in left field as well, but his usage will likely stay the same if first baseman Ryan Zimmerman remains relatively healthy. On days when he receives the starting nod, the 33-year-old is a solid plug-and-play option in most formats.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Will bat fifth Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind will start at first base and bat fifth Wednesday against the Marlins, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.

The Nationals are giving three of their key bats (Ryan Zimmerman, Daniel Murphy and Matt Wieters) a day off for rest in the series finale, so in addition to replacing Zimmerman in the field, Lind will benefit from a prominent spot in the lineup thanks to the absences. Despite not seeing regular starts for an extended period at any point this season, Lind has been deadly in a part-time role, batting .348 with six home runs and 26 RBI in just 106 plate appearances.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Three hits in Monday's loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Monday's loss to the Braves.

He's taken advantage of the opportunity presented by Ryan Zimmerman's sore back, starting four of the last five games and slashing .375/.389/.625 with a homer, four RBI and three runs. Zimmerman could be back in action Tuesday, but Lind's strong numbers on the season should allow him to continue seeing occasional starts against right-handed pitchers.

Nationals' Adam Lind: Hits fifth round tripper
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lind went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run during Saturday's loss to Texas.

Lind has made the most of his playing time this season with a sterling .333/.395/.613 slash line through 86 plate appearances. He's been sporadically spelling Ryan Zimmerman at first base, and Zimmerman is currently nursing a back injury, so Lind could see a fleeting uptick in fantasy value.
