Bess had some effective, yet inconsistent, games to begin the calendar year, but his production has dropped significantly over the second half of February. While he's been inconsistent over most of the season, his recent cold limitations in usage could signal a shrinking role in the BayHawks' system. The 23-year-old is averaging 7.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this season.

Bess had 16 points (5-15 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and one rebound over 34 minutes in Saturday's G League loss to Delaware.
Bess had managed to log a double-digit point total in just one of his previous six games, but he bounced back Saturday by converting on 36.4 percent of his 11 three-point attempts. The 23-year-old hasn't been particularly productive in other areas on the stat sheet, averaging 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.

Bess had 17 points (6-14 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 0-1 FT), five assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block over 41 minutes in Saturday's G League win against Westchester.
Despite committing four fouls Saturday, Bess led the team in minutes as he recorded a double-digit point total for the first time since Nov. 17. Bess returned from an ankle injury Dec. 13, but his workload has slowly increased, and Saturday's performance is encouraging for his workload going forward.

The 23-year-old missed the team's previous four games, but he returned to action in a limited fashion Friday, logging a season-low 19 minutes. Bess is averaging 15.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game this season, but he could be eased back into his normal workload following his injury.

Javon Bess: Waived by Pelicans
Bess was waived by New Orleans on Saturday, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
Bess joined the Pelicans in late June after going unselected in the draft following his breakout senior season at Saint Louis. The 23-year-old played in two preseason games and had two points and two rebounds in nine minutes.
