James remains with the Kings as the sign-and-trade sending Bogdan Bogdanovic to the Bucks fell through, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The 23-year-old was a secondary asset with Milwaukee set to send Donte DiVincenzo, Ersan Ilyasova and D.J. Wilson to Sacramento, but all parties will be staying put for now. James appeared in 35 games as a rookie and averaged 2.5 points in 6.6 minutes.
James was traded to the Bucks on Tuesday in the deal that also sent Bogdan Bogdanovic to Milwaukee, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The Kings received Donte DiVincenzo, Ersan Ilyasova and D.J. Wilson.
A second-round pick in last year's draft, James appeared in 34 games for the Kings, averaging 5.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in the nine appearances that he saw double-digit minutes. He's not expected to play a significant role with the Bucks, but we've yet to see exactly how free agency shakes out.
James (kneecap) shared that his knee is "100 percent" healthy, James Ham of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
James needed a PRP injection in his knee in mid-March, and he's since recovered from the tendinitis that was ailing him. His role with the team will likely still be relatively small during the resumed season. He's played 218 minutes across 33 games, totaling 85 points, 30 rebounds, 16 assists, nine blocks and six steals.
James received a PRP injection to treat patellar tendinitis in his right knee, and his status will be updated in 1-2 weeks, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.
James hasn't been a consistent rotation piece for the Kings lately, so this injury shouldn't affect coach Luke Walton's rotation. We should receive an update on James' status once he's re-evaluated.
James played one minute in Thursday's 112-108 loss to the Thunder, accruing no statistics during his time on the court.
James entered the contest with 2:27 left in the third quarter but was pulled before the period ended in favor of Bogdan Bogdanovic. The rookie second-round pick has seen the floor in only seven of the Kings' last 16 games, playing four minutes or fewer in each of those appearances.
James was recalled from the G League on Wednesday.
James has appeared in each of the past four games for Sacramento, though he's totaled just five points, two assists, one rebound and one block across 15 minutes during that stretch.
James was assigned to the G League on Tuesday, Jason Jones of The Athletic reports.
James was brought up to the parent club Sunday and logged three minutes against the Magic later that day, registering a rebound and a block. He'll head back to the G League, where he'll have a better chance to see consistent playing time.
The Kings have recalled James from the G League on Sunday, James Ham of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
James earned the call-up Sunday following a 30-point outburst for Stockton on Saturday. The rookie will reportedly be active for the Kings' game Monday against Orlando.
James tallied 30 points (11-13 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT) in a G League win over Iowa on Saturday.
James was sent down to the G League on Saturday and wasted no time making himself at home, making all but two of his field-goal attempts and racking up 30 points in 24 minutes. It was only the second G League appearance of the season for the undrafted rookie, who previously scored 17 points in 19 minutes Nov. 13.
James was assigned to the Stockton Kings on Saturday.
James will head to Stockton for the first time this season, presumably in order to get additional in-game reps. Since totaling 14 points in 24 minutes on Dec. 20th against the Pacers, James' failed to see more than nine minutes in any single game and has racked up six DNP-CD's in 11 contests.
James accounted for 14 points (5-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists and a block in 23 minutes Friday against Indiana.
James managed to reach double figures for just the second time this season. The rookie guard's been left out of the rotation in six of the past seven games but managed to regain a role Friday with both Trevor Ariza (personal) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle) ruled out. Neither have particularly serious issues and are expected to return within the next couple of games, which will presumably force James back to the fringes of the rotation.
James scored 14 points (6-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 0-2 FT) while adding three rebounds, three assists and a steal in 33 minutes off the bench during Friday's 116-97 loss to the Nets.
He was the only member of the second unit to score in double digits, and incredibly, James accounted for half of the Kings' three-pointers on the night as the team shot a woeful 15.4 percent (4-for-26) from beyond the arc. The 22-year-old rookie hadn't played more than seven minutes in any game prior to Friday, but he seems headed for a much bigger role in the short term with Trevor Ariza (groin), Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring) and De'Aaron Fox (ankle) all banged up for Sacramento.
James was recalled from the G League on Thursday, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.
James made his G League debut Wednesday, notching 17 points, four assists, two rebounds and two blocks across 19 minutes. He'll rejoin Sacramento ahead of Friday's game against the Lakers, though he likely won't factor into the rotation.
James was assigned to the G League on Wednesday.
James has appeared in just three games for the Kings this season, tallying a combined seven points and two rebounds in 12 minutes. He'll head to the G League for some more consistent run.
James has been a healthy scratch in each of the last two contests.
James has appeared in just two of the five regular season games thus far this season. The rookie shooting guard combined for seven points (3-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one board, and one block across 10 minutes in those two contests, which illustrates his lack of reliability for fantasy purposes.
James suffered a right knee strain Tuesday and will be sidelined for the remainder of Las Vegas Summer League, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.
The setback isn't viewed as a major one and shouldn't impact James' availability for training camp. In addition to ruling James out for the remainder of the summer-league slate, the Kings announced Wednesday that they signed the 6-foot-7 swingman to a three-year minimum contract. The deal should put the 40th overall pick on track to begin his career in the NBA after he averaged 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 24.0 minutes per game over his three summer-league outings.
James finished with 10 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two assists, one rebound and one block across 23 minutes during the Kings' 105-101 win over the Mavericks in a Las Vegas Summer League game Monday.
The first of two 2019 second-round picks for the Kings, James has opened Las Vegas Summer League play with a pair of impressive shooting efforts. The rookie drained 60.0 percent of his attempts in his debut Saturday, and he followed that up with a strong 50.0 percent tally Monday. Jones has an excellent offensive track record from his college days at Wyoming, and he'll look to continue displaying his wares during his remaining time in the desert in an effort to enter training camp with some momentum.
