  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Held in check

Murphy totaled eight points (1-12 FG, 0-9 3Pt, 6-8 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, four blocks and one steal across 32 minutes during Sunday's 114-101 victory over the Pistons. This was a quiet offensive showing for Murphy, as he took a backseat while Zion Williamson erupted for 36 points. But with Brandon Ingram (knee) expected to miss a couple of weeks, better days are likely ahead for Murphy.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Modest performance in start

Murphy ended with 14 points (4-11 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds and three assists across 30 minutes during Friday's 111-88 victory over Miami. Murphy shifted into the starting lineup, replacing Brandon Ingram, who will miss at least two weeks due to a knee injury. This alone makes Murphy a must-roster player despite the fact he was not at his best Friday. With that said, he still managed four triples. The Pelicans suit up again Sunday, when they will face the Pistons in what should be a favorable matchup.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Shines off bench Sunday

Murphy had 28 points (10-18 FG, 6-13 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes during Sunday's 116-103 win over the Hawks. Murphy not only looked impressive off the bench Sunday, but he led the Pelicans in scoring on a night where Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum were the only starters who reached double-digit points. Murphy might be stuck in a bench role if everyone on the Pelicans' roster is healthy, but that doesn't mean he doesn't carry fantasy upside. Murphy is averaging 22.2 points per game while shooting 52.9 percent from the field and 48.1 percent from three over his last five games off the bench.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Lands on injury report

Murphy is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Pacers due to an undisclosed injury. Brandon Ingram (ankle), Zion Williamson (foot) and CJ McCollum (ankle) were all listed as questionable on the initial injury report, but Murphy was added an hour later. It's unclear what Murphy is dealing with, but the Pelicans are in danger of being extremely shorthanded versus Indiana.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Available to face Portland

Murphy (knee) is available to face Portland on Saturday and will join the starting lineup. Murphy has been bothered by a knee issue of late, but the wing will be available for this contest, and with Zion Williamson (foot) out, he'll get a chance to start. Murphy is averaging 10.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game since the start of January.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Scores 15 points off bench

Murphy closed with 15 points (6-14 FG, 3-10 3Pt) and four rebounds in 28 minutes during Monday's 118-112 loss to Boston. Murphy returned to a bench role after a spot start against the Thunder on Jan. 26 and not playing against the Bucks on Jan. 27, but he still posted a solid stat line. Even though playing off the bench limits his fantasy upside, it's worth noting Murphy is getting enough touches on offense, regardless of the role, to remain an asset in most fantasy formats. He has scored in double digits in four of his last six appearances, averaging 12.0 points per game in that span.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Rejoins reserves

Murphy will come off the bench for Saturday's game against the Bucks, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. With Zion Williamson (foot) back in action, Murphy will slide back to the second unit after getting a spot start Friday. Before Friday's game, Murphy had scored in double digits in five of his last seven appearances.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Scores 14 in win

Murphy totaled 14 points (6-14 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds and two assists over 25 minutes during Tuesday's 153-124 victory over Utah. The Pelicans had little trouble generating offense Tuesday, and Murphy finished with his third double-digit scoring total over his last four appearances. He wasn't particularly efficient from the perimeter Tuesday, but he had enough volume from inside the arc to make an impact. Over his last four outings, he's averaged 12.8 points and 3.5 rebounds in 23.8 minutes per game.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Questionable to face Dallas

Murphy is questionable to face the Mavericks on Sunday due to left knee tendonitis. Murphy logged 28 minutes in Friday's 125-113 loss to the Nuggets, racking up six points (2-9 FG, 2-8 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists and two steals. He's been finding ways to produce regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench, but his absence might affect the team's depth given his two-way contributions.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Will be available

Murphy (knee) will be available for Friday's game against the Nuggets, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports. Murphy will shed his probable tag after he was initially considered questionable to suit up. CJ McCollum (ankle), Zion Williamson (quad) and Brandon Ingram (Achilles) are also good to go.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Likely to suit up against Denver

Murphy (knee) is now listed as probable for Friday's game versus the Nuggets. Murphy has been upgraded from questionable to available Friday despite dealing with left knee tendinitis. With most of New Orleans' regulars expected to play, Murphy will likely be the team's first option off the bench at the forward position.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Struggles in return

Murphy (knee) recoded three points (1-9 FG, 1-6 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one block in 17 minutes during Friday's 111-95 loss to the Clippers. Murphy sat out the Pelicans' last three games due to tendinitis in his left knee, the same knee that required a meniscectomy back in September. He showed some rust in Friday's loss, and Murphy's minutes load could be managed in his first few games back from the injury. Murphy was productive in December before his knee issue flared up, as he had averaged 14.8 points on 47.2 percent shooting from the field to go with 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists over 27.0 minutes per game last month.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Questionable for Friday

Murphy (knee) is questionable for Friday's game against the Clippers, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Murphy has missed the last three games due to a knee issue, and he's been diagnosed with left knee tendinitis. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available for Friday's matchup, but if he's sidelined, Jordan Hawkins and Dyson Daniels will likely see increased run for the Pelicans.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Limited contributions Thursday

Murphy racked up six points (2-8 FG, 2-7 3Pt), one rebound and two assists in 23 minutes during Thursday's 112-105 win over the Jazz. Coach Willie Green deployed a 10-man rotation Thursday, notably giving Larry Nance (ribs) 25 minutes in his return from injury. Murphy struggled with his shot and did practically nothing on the boards and defense, making this a bit of an outlier performance. Given what we saw last year, Murphy should be rostered in standard fantasy leagues, but the Pelicans' dense and shockingly healthy rotation may cap his upside in the immediate future.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Scores 14 points off bench

Murphy ended Saturday's 106-104 loss to the Rockets with 14 points (4-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds and two steals across 34 minutes. The Pelicans didn't have a good offensive showing, but Murphy made his presence felt off the bench, as he continues to make an impact with the second unit. Murphy has scored in double digits in all but one of his 10 appearances, averaging 16.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.7 steals per game.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Not starting Saturday

Murphy is not in the starting lineup to face the Rockets on Saturday, Lachard Binkley of TheDreamShake.com reports. With Zion Williamson (illness) ready to start, Murphy will head back to the bench. Murphy is averaging 14.9 points per game while shooting 39.6 percent from three-point range across eight bench appearances this season.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Starting against Cavaliers

Murphy will start against the Cavaliers on Thursday, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Zion Williamson is sitting out Thursday due to illness, allowing Murphy to make his first start of the campaign. Murphy has fared well through eight games with the Pelicans, posting averages of 14.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2.4 three-pointers.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Available Monday

Murphy (rest) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Monday's In-Season Tournament quarterfinal matchup against the Kings. Murphy made his season debut on Friday against the Spurs and got the night off on Saturday for rest purposes, but he will be available for Monday's game against the Kings. Murphy scored 18 points across just 22 minutes in his season debut and he will be an important piece for the Pelicans moving forward, but his minutes will likely remain limited for the next few games.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Out Saturday

Murphy will not play in Saturday's game in Chicago for rest purposes. Murphy made his season debut Friday and recorded 18 points (7-13 FG, 4-10 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 22 minutes. With Saturday's contest being the second night of a back-to-back set, it is not surprising to see him out. Look for the Pelicans to continue easing him back into the swing of things in the immediate future.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Available Friday

Murphy (knee) is available for Friday's game against the Spurs. Murphy was questionable for Friday's matchup due to his knee injury, but he indicated Thursday that he planned to suit up, so it isn't surprising to see him upgraded to available. After missing the first 19 games of the year, Murphy may face a minutes restriction against San Antonio.
