Chris Kaman: Not ruling out playing in 2016-17
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman, an unrestricted free agent, acknowledges that he could retire from the NBA, but hasn't ruled out playing in 2016-17 just yet, Kerry Eggers of the Portland Tribune reports. "I'm not in any rush [to retire]," Kaman said. "I'm waiting to see what happens with free agency. I'd like to play some more. It depends on the situation, though. I'm not going to close any doors until the time comes."

The 34-year-old Kaman barely saw the floor last season as a deep reserve for the Trail Blazers, appearing in just 16 games and averaging only 7.0 minutes per contest. The organization valued Kaman for his willingness to teach and help develop the team's younger big men, so if he's unable to land a contract in free agency, he could stick with the Trail Blazers as a workout coach.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Hasn't played in last six games
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman (coach's decision) didn't appear in Monday's 132-125 overtime loss to the Warriors in Game 4 of the series.

Kaman hasn't seen the floor in the Blazers' last six postseason games, so it looks like his only opportunities during this series with the Warriors may come during garbage time.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Scores six points in return from abdominal injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman (abdomen) tallied six points (3-4 FG), two rebounds, and one assist over eight minutes in Sunday's Game 1 loss to the Clippers.

An abdominal strain kept Kaman out of the Trail Blazers' regular season finale last Wednesday against the Nuggets, but he may have just been sidelined for precautionary purposes with little on the line at that point. His return to the court for Game 1 suggests that Kaman is reasonably healthy, but since he's rarely been a rotation member this season, we can't count on him to see his minutes tick upward from here.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Questionable for Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman is questionable for Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Nuggets with an abdominal strain, Blazers.com's Casey Holdahl reports.

Kaman likely sustained the injury during a recent practice, as he's only logged six total minutes over the Blazers' five games since the start of April. With the Trail Blazers' spot in the playoffs already locked up, Kaman likely won't be available Wednesday if he's less than fully healthy, but because he rarely sees the floor anything, his potential absence won't affect coach Terry Stotts' rotation.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Plays two minutes in win over Kings
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman played two minutes in Tuesday's 115-107 win over the Kings, accruing one rebound, one assist, and two fouls.

Kaman battled an upper-respiratory illness last week that kept him sidelined for two games, but he's been active for the team's last three contests. The center has seen just six combined minutes in those games, however, suggesting coach Terry Stotts doesn't view him as a rotation player in the frontcourt.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Out against Boston on Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman (illness) is out for Thursday's game against the Celtics, Casey Holdahl of the Portland Trail Blazers reports.

Kaman has been dealing with an upper respiratory illness that has kept him sidelined since Monday. The last time he played came against the Pelicans on Mar. 18 where he logged one minute of playing time. With Kaman out, look for Noah Vonleh, Mason Plumlee, and Ed Davis to contribute playing time on par with their current outputs.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Questionable Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman (illness) is considered questionable for Thursday's game against the Celtics, Mike Richman of The Oregonian reports.

Kaman is still battling the upper-respiratory infection that kept him out of Monday's matchup with the Kings. With more than 24 hours to go before Thursday's game, Kaman would appear to have a decent chance to get back on the floor, but the Blazers will wait until shootaround to issue an update. Kaman has appeared in only five games, logging 37 total minutes, in March.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Out with illness Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman is dealing with an upper-respiratory illness and won't be available Monday against the Kings, Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com reports.

Kaman hasn't played in the Blazers' last four games in coach's decisions, so his absence Monday won't affect the way head man Terry Stotts distributes the minutes in the frontcourt.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Pours in season-high 12 points in Thursday loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman poured in 12 points (5-6 FG, 2-2 FT), and added five rebounds, an assist and a block over 15 minutes in Thursday's 118-110 loss to the Spurs.

The 13-year veteran has largely been a forgotten man in Portland's big man rotation this season, with the 15 minutes he received Thursday representing his highest allotment of playing time since tallying 20 minutes back on Nov.16 against this same Spurs squad. Kaman's season-high scoring total came on solid 5-of-6 shooting, illustrating one of the highlights of the 33-year-old's skill set. Despite the encouraging performance, it remains to be seen if coach Terry Stotts will consistently give Kaman the opportunity to offer any late-season fantasy value off the bench as part of the regular rotation behind Mason Plumlee.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Gets 10 minutes in Monday's blowout loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman scored five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 FT) and added two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 10 minutes during the Trail Blazers' 128-94 loss to the Thunder on Monday.

Kaman has appeared in just five of the last 21 games. However, he has seen the court in three of the last five, albeit for a combined 21 minutes of action. At this stage in his career, Kaman can safely be avoided across all fantasy formats.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Plays two minutes Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman missed his lone shot attempt in two minutes during the Trail Blazers' 107-95 win versus the Bucks on Tuesday.

Kaman has appeared in only eight games this season, and the 33-year-old center is at best an afterthought in fantasy. Expect him to continue providing leadership, but don't count on him receiving any extra minutes going forward even though Noah Vonleh suffered an ankle sprain.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Doesn't play in Monday's win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman (coach's decision) didn't play in Monday's 108-98 win over the Wizards.

Kaman has played in just one of the Trail Blazers' 12 games since Jan. 27. It doesn't look like he'll be joining the rotation unless a slew of injuries hit the frontcourt.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Recovered from stomach flu, but doesn't play Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman (illness) was active for Sunday's 116-109 loss to the Heat, but didn't leave the bench, Casey Holdahl of TrailBlazers.com reports.

Kaman was battling the stomach flu for a few days, but it seems like he's fully recovered at this point. Though he's now healthy, Kaman hasn't been a consistent part of coach Terry Stotts' rotation this season with only three appearances in the Blazers' 29 games, and that will likely remain the case so long as the rest of the team's frontcourt in intact.

Trail Blazers' Chris Kaman: Questionable for Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman is questionable for Friday's game against the Magic due to gastroenteritis, Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com reports.

Kaman will be re-evaluated closer to game time, but for now he'll remain questionable. He's only played in three games this season and seems to have dropped out of the regular rotation, so even if he is cleared, Kaman likely won't provide much fantasy production.

Trailblazers' Chris Kaman: Sitting out Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Clippers, Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com reports.

Kaman continues to battle a sprained ankle, and he'll remain sidelined again after sitting out Saturday's win over the Lakers. The veteran has played in only three games this season and appears to be out of the regular rotation, even when healthy.

Trailblazers' Chris Kaman: Doubtful with ankle injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman (ankle) is considered questionable for Saturday's game, Erik Gundersen of The Columbian reports.

Kaman is battling a sprained right ankle, and barring unexpected progress in his recovery, he'll sit out Saturday's matchup with the Lakers. The veteran has played sparingly this season and has not appeared in the last four games.

Trailblazers' Chris Kaman: Doesn't play in Wednesday's tilt
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman was dropped from the starting lineup prior to Wednesday's game against Houston and did not play during the game.

Kaman has only appeared in three games this season due to being buried on Portland's depth chart. Despite starting Monday, Kaman was benched due to his poor play in favor of noah Vonleh. The big man has totaled just 10 points and eight rebounds this season, and shouldn't be expected to play much unless injuries force him into the lineup for the Blazers.

Trailblazers' Chris Kaman: Will start Monday versus Spurs
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman will get the start Monday versus San Antonio, Joe Freeman of the Oregonian reports.

Kaman was replaced by Ed Davis in the starting lineup Sunday, so it appears Portland will try something different Monday. Their frontcourt is crowded at the moment and it is hard to predict playing time. Kaman will attempt to take advantage of the opportunity and earn more minutes in the future.

Trailblazers' Chris Kaman: Moves back to bench role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman will be replaced by Ed Davis in the starting lineup at power forward for Sunday's game against the Bobcats.

Prior to getting the surprising starting nod in Friday's game against the Grizzlies, Kaman had only appeared in one of the Blazers' first nine games, so it seemed unlikely that he'd have a long-term grip on the starting job while Meyers Leonard (shoulder) remains sidelined for the next month-plus. While he performed adequately in Friday's game (eight points, four rebounds in 24 minutes), Kaman had been behind Mason Plumlee, Davis, and Noah Vonleh on the depth chart prior to Leonard's injury, so it's difficult to expect consistent minutes from him as he moves back to the bench.

Trailblazers' Chris Kaman: Gets the start Friday versus Memphis
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kaman will get a surprise start versus Memphis Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports.

With Myles Leonard out, Chris Kaman will get his first start of the year. Kaman will try to make the most out of this opportunity and earn future minutes.
