Alani Fua: Waived from injured reserve
Fua (knee) was waived from injured reserve Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Fua finished the 2016 season on IR due to a lingering knee injury that he's never seemed to have fully recovered from. The Cardinals again placed him on IR in training camp, but it seems they've now run out of patience.

Cardinals' Alani Fua: Reverts to IR
The Cardinals placed Fua (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday.
One day removed from getting waived/injured by the Cardinals, Fua cleared waivers and reverted to IR. Because of recurring issues with his knee, there's no telling when he'll be able to take the field again. As evidence, head coach Bruce Arians told Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com, "if it's real long, it's probably going to be too long."

Alani Fua: Reaches injury settlemnt
Fua (knee) reached an injury settlement and was waived by the Cardinals on Monday, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.
Fua missed the majority of the 2016 season due to a knee injury. He aggravated the issue at the beginning of training camp and was expected to miss much of the preseason, so Fua and the Cardinals determined an injury settlement was optimal for both parties. The linebacker will pursue work elsewhere once healthy.

Cardinals' Alani Fua: May sit out 2-to-4 weeks
Fua (knee) could be out 2-to-4 weeks, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
What seems like a reaggravation of last season's injury could possibly keep Fua out for the rest of training camp. Fua is already going to be hard-pressed to find defensive snaps, and this won't help him prove himself. Expect the linebacker to continue to solely be a special teams asset when he returns.

Cardinals' Alani Fua: Lingering knee injury
Fua injured his knee at Monday's practice, Kyle Odegard of AZCardinals.com reports.
Fua was sent to injured reserve last season with a knee injury after just three games, and it appears that ailment could still be lingering. He recorded one tackle on special teams last season, which is where his main contributions are. Fua would need injuries to plague the linebacker depth chart in order to find any consistent defensive snaps, so for the time being, his minor relevance will stem from covering punts and kickoffs.

Cardinals' Alani Fua: Headed to IR

Fua dealt with a knee injury during the early portion of the preseason, but may have suffered a setback resulting in his IR designation. The Cardinals signed Joplo Bartu to provide additional depth at inside linebacker with the open roster spot.

Cardinals' Alani Fua: Won't play Friday
Fua (knee) won't play in Friday's preseason opener against the Raiders, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Avoiding a more serious diagnosis last week, Fua is still contending with a knee injury that will keep him on the sideline Friday. Once he's practicing in earnest, he'll compete for one of the reserve inside linebacker spots behind Kevin Minter.

Cardinals' Alani Fua: Avoids knee surgery
Fua doesn't require surgery on his knee, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports.
Fua confirmed that everyone involved was worried about a torn meniscus, and according to Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site, he'll return to practice in the next 4-to-5 days. At that point, Fua will serve as one of the primary reserve inside linebackers to Deone Bucannon and Kevin Minter.

Cardinals' Alani Fua: MRI ordered up on knee
Fua was slated for an MRI on his knee Tuesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Head coach Bruce Arians is holding out hope that Fua's issue isn't severe, but tests will determine how much time he requires on the sideline. Because the Cardinals have Wednesday off, Fua's status may not be updated until Thursday.
