Channing Ward: Waived from NFI list
The Buccaneers waived Ward (kneecap) from the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list with a non-football injury Wednesday, per NFL Communications.
Ward sustained a patellar tendon tear while working out in Mississippi in July, which eventually resulted in his placement on the list. It appears the Bucs have decided to move on, making him free to sign with another club when healthy.

Channing Ward: Waived with injury designation
The Buccaneers waived Ward (knee) with a non-football injury designation Wednesday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Ward tore a patellar tendon while working out in Mississippi last week, according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times. The defensive lineman has already undergone surgery and is expected to need at least four months to recover. Should he clear waivers, Ward would then revert to Tampa Bay's injured reserve.

Buccaneers' Channing Ward: Promoted to Tampa Bay's roster
The Buccaneers promoted Ward from the practice squad Tuesday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The Buccaneers played without All-Pro defensive tackle Gerald McCoy (biceps) in Monday's 24-21 loss to the Falcons and lost defensive end Robert Ayers (neck/shoulder) midway through the contest, so the addition of Ward gives the team a fresh body along the line. Even if both McCoy and Ayers are sidelined for the Bucs' final two games of the season, don't expect Ward to be a major factor in the team's line rotation.
