  • Panthers' Sam Martin: Heading to Carolina

The Panthers are set to sign Martin to a one-year contract worth up to $3 million, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Martin was released by the Bills on Thursday after spending the last three seasons in Buffalo, and he'll head to Carolina to replace Johnny Hekker. Across 17 regular-season games in 2024, Martin averaged 46.7 yards per punt and landed 25 punts inside the 20-yard line.

  • Bills' Sam Martin: Toughing it out

Martin (hamstring) returned to Monday's contest with the Steelers, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports. Martin suffered a hamstring injury in the first half, but he was back on the field to punt in the third quarter. Considering he's the only punter on the team's roster, it makes sense that he's ultimately attempting to tough it out.

  • Bills' Sam Martin: Injures hamstring

Martin is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Steelers due to a hamstring injury, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports. Martin is the only punter on Buffalo's roster, so it is unclear what the team will do in a punting situation. There is no word on the severity of his hamstring injury at this time.

  • Bills' Sam Martin: Notches new contract with Buffalo

Martin and the Bills agreed to a three-year, $7.5 million contract Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. The punter registered his second-most yards per punt of his career in 2022 and will look to maintain that level of performance moving forward.
