How Lions Can Bolster O-Line During Offseason

Fantasy News

  • Lions' Trevor Nowaske: No limits Thursday

Nowaske (elbow) was a full participant in practice Thursday. The linebacker missed each of Detroit's first two games with the elbow issue, though he appears on track to return for the team's Week 3 showdown with Baltimore. Nowaske played about equally on special teams and defense in 2024, and he's likely in line for a similar role in 2025 with Derrick Barnes, Jack Campbell and Alex Anzalone ahead of him on the depth chart.

  • Lions' Trevor Nowaske: Won't suit up vs. Bears

Nowaske (elbow) is listed as out for Sunday's game versus Chicago. Nowaske was able to practice in a limited capacity all week, but he'll have to sit out at least one more game as he continues to recover from a lingering elbow injury. All three of Alex Anzalone, Jack Campbell and Derrick Barnes were on the field for a large majority of Detroit's defensive snaps in Week 1, so it would probably take an injury to one of those starters for any other Lions linebacker to see significant playing time.

  • Lions' Trevor Nowaske: Sidelined for Week 1

Nowaske (elbow) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Packers. The Saginaw Valley State product didn't practice all week due to an elbow issue, making it no surprise he'll be sidelined for Detroit's regular-season opener. In his absence, Grant Stuard will likely see increased work as the Lions' top rotational outside linebacker.

  • Lions' Trevor Nowaske: Re-signs with Detroit

Nowaske re-signed with the Lions on Thursday, Kory Woods of MLive reports. Nowaske will return to Detroit for another year after playing in 14 regular-season games this past season as a reserve linebacker and primary special-teamer. The 26-year-old started two games for a Detroit defense ravaged by the injury bug last season, and he's expected to return to a similar role with the special-teams unit in 2025.

  • Lions' Trevor Nowaske: Past concussion

Nowaske (concussion) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bears. Nowaske practiced in full all week and has passed through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, paving the way for him to return to action in Week 16. Expect Nowaske to serve as a depth piece in the Lions' linebacker corps while also contributing on special teams Sunday.

  • Lions' Trevor Nowaske: Will miss Sunday's Week 15 game

Nowaske (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's battle against Buffalo. Nowaske popped up on the injury report this week with a concussion and has now been ruled out from playing Sunday. He'll need to clear the NFL's protocol for head injuries before being able to take the field again. In Nowaske's place Sunday, Ben Niemann could be slated for a significant role on defense.
