A sixth-round pick out of New Hampshire, Laube brings a complete skill set to the Raiders backfield and could be a factor on passing downs. That's because he caught 117 passes over his past two years for well over 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns -- and that's on top of the nearly 2,000 rush yards and 24 scores he had. Laube is stocky with quickness, underrated power, experience lining up in the slot and obviously excellent receiving skills, but he doesn't have great top-end speed and clearly dominated FCS-level competition (he did look good at Senior Bowl practices against tougher competition, for what that's worth). If he can carve out a role as the Raiders' third-down back, he could be useful as a bench option in PPR leagues. Until it's clear he's in that role, however, Laube should only be taken late in deeper Dynasty leagues.
Raiders' Dylan Laube: Gets start in preseason finale
Rotowire
Laube rushed three times for 12 yards and added one catch on one target for six yards in Friday's preseason tie with the 49ers. He also lost a fumble and returned a kickoff for 24 yards.
Las Vegas sat most of its starters in the contest, and Laube was thus handed the start. He ripped off a nice eight-yard run on his second carry but ended his day on a sour note, losing a fumble following a six-yard reception late in the first quarter. That Laube suited up Friday while Zamir White, Ameer Abdullah and Alexander Mattison all sat could be a hint about where he stands in the running back pecking order. He could see more work in the return game than as a ball carrier in his rookie campaign.

Raiders' Dylan Laube: Looks sharp early on
Rotowire
Laube has been making a case to earn some playing time early on this coming season, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic.
Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy said the rookie sixth-round pick is "off to a great start," after head coach Antonio Pierce noted of Laube on Friday, "That dude is special. I like him...and he's gritty. he's a gritty RB. One thing - he surprises you with his speed." That said, Tafur acknowledges that Laube currently slots in behind fellow backs Zamir White, Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah. The rookie is a threat to take over Abdullah's role on third downs and could also get a look on kick returns.

Raiders' Dylan Laube: Las Vegas picks up in sixth round
Rotowire
The Raiders selected Laube in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 208th overall.
Laube was an extremely productive workhorse at New Hampshire, but at 5-foot-10, 206 pounds Laube has a frame more conventionally seen among third-down backs. That should suit Laube just fine -- Laube averaged more than five catches per game in his final two seasons and is clearly comfortable catching passes. Zamir White appears locked in as starter for Las Vegas and the duo of Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah both excel on passing downs, but Laube has better pure pass-catching ability than any of them.
