Dillon signed with the Vikings' practice squad Wednesday.
Dillon cleared waivers Wednesday, and the Vikings are keeping him around. If the Vikings run into injuries at tight end, they may promote the undrafted rookie out of Marian University.
Minnesota waived Dillon on Tuesday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Dillon was active for Sunday's season opener against Atlanta, but he didn't see the field. The 22-year-old was waived to make room for center Brett Jones.
Dillon (head) wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report .
Dillon suffered this head injury in the preseason finale. He has shaken off the issue now, though, and will be ready for the season opener versus the Falcons. There's a chance he's still inactive Sunday, however, as the Vikings are set with pass-catching tight ends Kyle Rudolph and Irv Smith Jr.
