  • Seahawks' Charles Cross: Nearing return to action

Coach Mike Macdonald said Friday that the Seahawks are optimistic Cross (hamstring) can return to action in the next one-to-two weeks, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports. Cross has been ruled out for Saturday night's game against the 49ers but could be eyeing a return to the field in the wild-card round if Seattle doesn't clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a win over San Francisco. Josh Jones (ankle) is expected to make the start at left tackle Saturday.

  • Seahawks' Charles Cross: Won't play Week 18 vs. Niners

Cross (hamstring) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the 49ers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Cross will miss a third consecutive game due to a hamstring injury. The winner of Saturday's game between the Seahawks and 49ers will determine who earns the No. 1 seed in the NFC for the playoffs and the bye week that comes with it, so a Seattle win would give Cross more time to recover from his injury. Josh Jones (knee/ankle - questionable) would likely start at left tackle once again in Cross's absence, assuming the former is cleared to play.

  • Seahawks' Charles Cross: Won't play at Carolina

Cross (hamstring) is officially listed as out for Sunday's game against the Panthers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Cross was not able to practice at all during the week, and he'll sit out his second straight game due to a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 15 versus the Colts. In his stead, Josh Jones projects to start at left tackle against a Carolina defense that's struggled to rush the passer this year.

Cross (finger) wasn't listed on Seattle's injury report Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. • Seahawks' Charles Cross: Doubtful Monday

Cross (toe) is listed as doubtful ahead of Monday night's game against the Giants, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. The ninth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft will likely miss his third consecutive game as he continues to recover from the toe injury he suffered during Seattle's Week 1 loss to the Rams. If Cross does miss Monday night's contest, Stone Forsythe is expected to continue filling in at left tackle.

  • Seahawks' Charles Cross: Misses practice Wednesday

Cross (toe) did not participate at Seattle's practice Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Cross was forced to miss the Seahawks' first practice of the week after being carted off the field in Week 1 with a sprained toe. Head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that the offensive lineman is "hurting" and that it's going to be a "challenge" for him to play in Week 2, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Fellow offensive tackle Abraham Lucas (kneecap) was placed on injured reserve while veteran Jason Peters was signed to the practice squad earlier this week.
