With P.J. Washington (ankle) sidelined, Marshall continues to start at power forward and filled the box score Wednesday. Marshall is worth considering in most fantasy leagues until Washington returns, as he's averaged 18.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals in 38.0 minutes per contest over four games as a starter this season.

Marshall finished with 18 points (6-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and three steals over 37 minutes during Saturday's 114-110 win over the Clippers.
Although Cooper Flagg's 35 points paced the Mavericks, Marshall took a spot in the starting lineup and finished with a solid total. Marshall took P.J. Washington's (ankle) place after he tweaked his ankle during warmups. Washington's injury outlook is unclear, but Marsalll is likely to start again if Washington is sidelined for Monday's game against the Nuggets.

Mavericks' Naji Marshall: Starts Saturday
Marshall started Saturday's game against the Clippers, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports.
P.J. Washington was initially set to start at power forward, though he reportedly turned his ankle in pregame warmups, resulting in Marshall getting the starting nod. If Washington is unable to play, Marshall should see a significant bump in minutes with Anthony Davis (calf) also sidelined.

Marshall notched 23 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds and one assist over 34 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 113-111 loss to the Knicks.
With Anthony Davis (calf) still unavailable, Marshall played more than 30 minutes for only the third time this season and tied D'Angelo Russell for the team scoring lead. Marshall has run hot and cold of late, scoring in double digits in five of the last eight games (one start) while averaging 16.8 points, 6.1 boards, 2.3 assists, 1.5 threes and 1.3 steals and shooting 51.2 percent from the floor in 29.8 minutes a contest.

Marshall registered 28 points (8-19 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 9-10 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in 47 minutes during Friday's 133-127 double overtime loss to the Clippers.
Marshall can be hit-or-miss, but he's been in a nice rhythm over the past five games, posting averages of 19.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.8 triples, 1.4 steals and just 0.8 turnovers per contest. His production will likely drop off a cliff once Anthony Davis (calf) gets back to the floor, but with AD hurt and Dereck Lively on a minutes cap, Marshall should continue to see a ton of opportunity with the Mavericks.

Marshall recorded his best scoring mark of the campaign in this loss Friday. The former Xavier standout can be a reliable scoring weapon for the Mavs when given enough minutes, as evidenced during some stretches last season, but he hasn't been able to produce much in 2025-26. Even though his minutes have remained steady in the 25-minute range, Marshall has scored in double digits in just two of his nine outings off the bench.

Dallas got a huge lift from their second unit in this game, particularly from Marshall, D'Angelo Russell and Max Christie, with those three combining for 53 points. Marshall was one of Dallas' most reliable players during the 2024-25 regular season when injuries took their toll, and he's off to a great start to the new campaign with averages of 7.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 24.3 minutes per contest through three games.

The 27-year-old forward is coming off a career-best season with Dallas, averaging 13.2 points, 4.8 boards, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 27.8 minutes over 69 regular-season games. However, Marshall started 31 of those contests as the injury-plagued Mavericks tried to patch together a lineup for long stretches of the campaign. Better luck on the health front, as well as the addition of first overall pick Cooper Flagg, will likely consign Marshall to the second unit in 2025-26, capping his minutes and production.
