Astros' Jake Bloss: Picked by Houston in third round

The Astros have selected Bloss with the 99th overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft.

Bloss won Big East Pitcher of the Year honors at Georgetown, where he pitched as a senior following three years at Lafayette. The right-hander has four legitimate pitches, which gives him a chance to start, but he'll need to improve his command in order to avoid a move to the bullpen down the line.
