Athletics' Eric Surkamp: Will not make scheduled start Tuesday

Surkamp's scheduled start against the Rangers on Tuesday will likely be given to Jesse Hahn, John Hickey of the Oakland Tribune reports.

Surkamp has been rather unimpressive over his four starts this season for Oakland, combining for a 6.55 ERA and 1.95 WHIP while never lasting at least six innings. Even though Henderson Alvarez (shoulder) suffered a setback Monday, it appears Hahn will take Surkamp's spot in the rotation, although it remains unclear if he'll stay with the Athletics or be demoted to Triple-A Nashville.
