Escobar was claimed off waivers by the Diamondbacks on Friday, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
The Red Sox had previously designated Escobar for assignment to make room on their 40-man roster. Escobar has yet to give up an earned run through seven innings of work at the Triple-A level this season.
