Weiss' contract was selected by the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Weiss advanced to Triple-A Reno in 2021, and he posted a 5.04 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 30.1 innings across 21 relief appearances at the highest level of the minors. The righty will now be shielded from the Rule 5 draft.
