Burns was outrighted off the Dodgers' 40-man roster Friday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Burns got into a pair of NLCS games as a replacement for Justin Turner (hamstring), but he wasn't particularly high on the depth chart, appearing in just nine regular-season major-league games. He'll return to his role as organizational depth for now.
