Dodgers' Ronnie Torreyes: Designated for assignment

Torreyes was designated for assignment Thursday, Steve Dilbeck of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Torreyes was DFA'd on Thursday in a corresponding move by the Dodgers to officially add Kenta Maeda to the 40-man roster. He appeared in just eight games with the Dodgers in 2015 and it would have been difficult for him to find a consistent role their infield this season with Corey Seager, Justin Turner, and Chase Utley all in the fold.
