Giants' Chris Marrero: Makes Opening Day roster

Marrero has made the Giants' Opening Day roster, Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Marrero moved into the conversation for a bench role after Mac Williamson (quadriceps) and Mike Morse (hamstring) went down with injuries, though he certainly earned his spot on the roster this spring. The 28-year-old slashed .266/.338/.641 with seven homers and 14 RBI during Cactus League play. He is a likely candidate to platoon with Jarrett Parker in left field to open the season.
