Giants' TJ Hopkins: Designated for assignment

Hopkins was designated for assignment by the Giants on Tuesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Otto Lopez. Hopkins was acquired from the Reds earlier this offseason and now could be on the move again.
