Ian Krol: To play overseas

Krol has opted out of his minor-league deal with the Padres and is headed overseas to continue his career, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The 31-year-old lefty made 18 appearances for the Tigers last year, logging a 4.34 ERA. He had a 7.46 ERA while pitching for Triple-A El Paso in the Pacific Coast League.
