The Mariners acquired Salcedo from the Reds on Monday in exchange for Ty France and cash consideration.
Salcedo, a 21-year-old catcher, has appeared in just seven games with Single-A Daytona this season, going 3-for-16 at the plate. He hasn't played since early June after Daytona transferred him to its development list prior to dealing him to Seattle.
