Mariners' Juan Then: Heads to Double-A

Seattle optioned Then to Double-A Arkansas on Tuesday.

As expected, Then won't be part of the Mariners' Opening Day roster, but he'll at least get a promotion to begin 2022 after he finished the 2021 season at High-A Everett. Over 14 starts with Everett spanning 54.1 innings, the 22-year-old right-hander submitted a 6.46 ERA and 1.61 WHIP while fanning 59 and walking 19.
