Nationals' Eric Thames: Resting in series finale

Thames is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

With southpaw David Peterson twirling for the Mets in the series finale, the lefty-hitting Thames will give way to Asdrubal Cabrera at first base. Only two of Thames' 36 plate appearances this season have come against left-handed pitching.
