The Red Sox selected Mataczynski with the No. 96 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.
The 18-year-old was a two-sport athlete at Hudson High School in Wisconsin and offers elite athleticism, but his tools are fairly raw. The power and speed potential is obvious, but Mataczynski needs some definite refinement.
