Kendrick will be added to the 40-man roster and start Thursday's game against the Orioles, Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports.
With Thursday's scheduled starter Steven Wright being placed on the disabled list Monday with a sprained left knee, the Red Sox will call upon Kendrick to make his first big-league appearance since 2015 with the Colorado Rockies. The 32-year-old has posted a 6.00 ERA and 20:5 K:BB ratio over 27 innings with Triple-A Pawtucket this season, but will get to face a Blue Jays team that has hit just .228 against right-handed pitching early in the season.
