The Reds selected Kriske's contract and optioned him to Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

Kriske might have had an opt-out clause in his minor-league contract, so the Reds added him to their 40-man roster to prevent him from leaving the organization. The 30-year-old has posted a 3.64 ERA and 40:17 K:BB over 29.2 innings with Louisville this season.
