The Rockies optioned Goodman to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.
The move clears a spot on the 26-man active roster for outfielder Nolan Jones (back), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. Goodman has been with the big club since late April, but he's seen his playing time decrease since the All-Star break. Over 169 total plate appearances in the big leagues on the season, Goodman has slashed .177/.219/.373 with eight home runs, 24 RBI and a 29 percent strikeout rate.
