Tigers' TJ Hopkins: Designated for assignment

Hopkins was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Thursday.

The move comes just two days after Hopkins was claimed off waivers, as the Tigers needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Gio Urshela. Hopkins, 27, has already been in three different organizations this offseason and could make it four as he goes through the waiver process again.
