    • Marlins' Nick Noonan: Traded to Marlins
      By RotoWire Staff

Noonan was traded to the Marlins on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports. Miami's infield has been gutted by injuries, so they needed to add some warm bodies to the New Orleans roster to replace all the players recently called up to the majors. Noonan was hitting just .212/.235/.333 in 10 games for Triple-A Colorado Springs prior to switching organizations.

    • Brewers' Nick Noonan: Joins Brewers on minors deal
      By RotoWire Staff

Noonan agreed to a minor league contract with the Brewers on Tuesday. The 2007 first-round pick has struggled during his limited time in the majors, most recently slashing .125/.182/.225 across 44 plate appearances over the past two years. He will serve as organizational infield depth for Milwaukee in 2017.

    • Nick Noonan: Elects free agency
      By RotoWire Staff

Noonan declined an outright assignment to the minor leagues, electing free agency, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports. A first-round pick in 2007, he flopped in a 62-game audition with the Giants in 2013 and has logged a total of 44 plate appearances in the majors since. He was passed over for a September callup with the Padres this season and seems to be firmly in Quad-A territory, but some team may bring Noonan to camp as a non-roster invitee.

    • Padres' Nick Noonan: Designated for assignment
      By RotoWire Staff

Noonan was designated for assignment on Wednesday. He had a brief opportunity earlier this year to get some traction as the Padres' starting shortstop, but that quickly evaporated. Noonan has a career .193/.239/.234 slash line in 155 big league plate appearances, and at 27 years old, there's little hope he'll turn into more than organizational filler.

    • Padres' Nick Noonan: Optioned to Triple-A
      By RotoWire Staff

Noonan was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday. He was given a chance to take the starting shortstop job at the big league level and run with it, but a .167/.200/.167 slash line in 20 plate appearances quickly altered the Padres' plans. Alexei Ramirez figures to be the team's starting shortstop going forward.
