  • Kinley (1-2) was tagged with the loss in relief Tuesday against the Mariners after giving up one run on one hit while fanning one across his lone inning of work. Kinley pitched the eighth inning but gave up the decisive hit of the game on a homer from Shed Long. The right-hander has given up runs in four of his last seven outings while allowing homers in three of those appearances, including each of the last two. He owns a 5.87 ERA across nine outings (9.2 innings) this month.

  • Kinley (1-1) allowed two runs on two hits and a walk in one inning, taking the loss versus Milwaukee on Saturday. Kinley was called on to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning, but he allowed a two-run home run to Willy Adames. That resulted in Kinley's second blown save in 29 outings this year.   • Kinley (oblique) had no issues after throwing a scoreless inning during Thursday's spring game against the Angels, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. The 30-year-old had been sidelined since March 7 with left oblique soreness, but he returned to game action Thursday and seemed fine. Kinley had a 5.32 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 26:12 K:BB over 23.2 innings for the Rockies last season and is expected to be on the Opening Day roster.

  • Kinley has been diagnosed with left oblique soreness, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Manager Bud Black revealed Saturday that Kinley has been dealing with a side issue, and he's now been officially diagnosed with an oblique injury. The right-hander threw a side session Friday and is slated to throw in a simulated game Sunday. Whether Kinley's injury affects his status for Opening Day remains to be seen.
