  • Will Vest RP | DET

Tigers' Will Vest: Picks up 23rd save

Vest earned the save in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Red Sox, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Vest's turned in three straight scoreless innings after giving up five earned runs over 1.2 frames in the two outings prior. The 30-year-old right-hander has converted 23 of 30 save chances overall this season while posting a 3.01 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 75:22 K:BB across 68.2 innings.

  • Jake Meyers CF | HOU

Astros' Jake Meyers: Not in Saturday's lineup

Meyers (calf) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Meyers was a late scratch from Friday's lineup due to right calf soreness, and he'll now remain on the bench to begin Saturday's contest. Taylor Trammell, Zach Cole and Jesus Sanchez will form Houston's outfield trio while Meyers rests.

  • Connelly Early SP | BOS

Red Sox's Connelly Early: Strikes out seven in loss

Early (1-2) took the loss Saturday against the Tigers, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk across five innings. He struck out seven.

Early held the Tigers scoreless through four innings before ultimately allowing two runs on Jahmai Jones' two-out single with the bases loaded, which proved to be enough to stick the rookie with the loss in a 2-1 Red Sox defeat. While Early's dropped back-to-back starts to finish the season, the left-hander's impressed overall in his first four big-league outings. He'll finish the year with a 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 29:4 K:BB across 19.1 innings.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Out again Saturday

Pena (oblique) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus the Angels, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Saturday will mark the sixth consecutive game that Pena has missed due to his strained left oblique. The Astros are still considering him day-to-day for now, but he only has one more chance to return to the starting nine before the regular season ends. Mauricio Dubon will start at shortstop again and bat eighth.

  • Joe Boyle SP | TB

Rays' Joe Boyle: Yields four runs in loss

Boyle (1-4) took the loss against the Blue Jays on Saturday, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five across five innings.

Boyle had given up just one earned run over his previous two starts, but he couldn't carry that momentum into Saturday's AL East clash. He generated 15 whiffs on 92 pitches but couldn't avoid the loss as the Rays were limited to just one run. Boyle appeared in 13 games (nine starts) for the Rays in 2025 and will end the season with a 4.67 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 58:28 K:BB across 52 innings.

  • Astros' AJ Blubaugh: Returning to starting role Saturday

Blubaugh is slated to start Saturday's game against the Angels in Anaheim, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The rookie right-hander has handled a versatile role for the Astros down the stretch, as he'll be making his second start in September after having yet to yield a run while striking out 17 and scattering five hits and four walks across 14 innings. Though he'll be taking the hill Saturday on six days' rest, Blubaugh may not be stretched out enough to reach the five innings he would need to qualify for a win. Most likely, the Astros will plan for an abbreviated start for Blubaugh before turning to a slew of higher-leverage bullpen arms to close out the contest as Houston looks to remain alive in the AL wild-card race.

  • Trey Yesavage SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Trey Yesavage: Earns first major-league win

Yesavage (1-0) earned the win against Tampa Bay on Saturday, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out five across five scoreless innings.

Yesavage made his Rogers Centre debut Saturday after pitching on the road in the first two starts of his major-league career. He was able to get himself out of tough situations to keep the Rays off the board, including a bases-loaded jam in the third inning in which he struck out Jonathan Aranda to escape unscathed. Yesavage's efforts were enough for him to capture the first win of his major-league career, and he'll end the regular season with a 3.21 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 14 innings across three starts with Toronto. The 22-year-old right-hander could join Kevin Gausman, Shane Bieber and Max Scherzer as part of the Blue Jays' playoff rotation, especially if Chris Bassitt (back) remains on the 15-day injured list.

  • Victor Robles CF | SEA

Mariners' Victor Robles: Sitting again Saturday

Robles (shoulder) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus the Dodgers.

Robles' left shoulder prevented him from playing in Friday's contest, and the Mariners will now give him another day to recover with the postseason quickly approaching. Dominic Canzone will start in right field while Robles sits, moving Cal Raleigh into the DH spot and Harry Ford into the lineup as Seattle's catcher.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Taking seat Saturday

Crawford isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Crawford will get a breather Saturday after going 3-for-14 with a homer, four RBI and three runs scored across his last five games. Leo Rivas will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Crawford's stead.

  • Jacob Latz RP | TEX

Rangers' Jacob Latz: Making start Saturday

Latz is slated to start Saturday's game against the Guardians in Cleveland.

With the Rangers recently welcoming Tyler Mahle back from the injured list, Latz had shifted to the bullpen following his most recent start Sept. 14 against the Mets. He has since made a pair of relief appearances, but Latz will be back in a starting role as the season winds down while the Rangers having shifted to a six-man rotation since being eliminated from playoff contention. Through 32 appearances (seven starts) on the campaign, Latz has gone 2-0 with a 2.80 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 70:37 K:BB in 80.1 innings.
