Monk announced Tuesday that he would hire an agent and enter the 2017 NBA Draft, the Associated Press reports.

Monk certainly justified his billing as one of the top high-school prospects in the Class of 2016 during his lone season at Kentucky, as he helped lead the Wildcats to the Elite Eight while averaging a team-best 19.8 points per game. The 6-foot-4 Monk profiles best as a shooting guard at the next level, where his ability to light it up from distance and rock the rim could make him a high-volume scorer at the next level, though his team context will ultimately dictate how he's used. He's projected to be selected somewhere in the draft lottery.
