Siakam announced Wednesday that he would forgo his remaining two years of eligibility at New Mexico and remain in the 2016 NBA Draft, Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com reports.

Siakam checked in with a 7-foot-3.25 wingspan, tested out well athletically and turned in productive outings in 5-on-5 play during the NBA Combine, boosting his draft stock and perhaps making himself a fringe first-round pick. After taking part in workouts with a number of NBA teams over the last week, Siakam decided that he had attracted enough interest to justify testing the waters while his star was on the rise. The 22-year-old is lauded for his mobility and relentless motor, and could end up developing into a quality energy big man off the bench.
