Lee signed a one-year contract with the Falcons on Wednesday, Matthew Tabeek of Atlanta's official site reports. Lee will get the chance to compete for a reserve tight end job with Atlanta following a stint in the XFL with the DC Defenders. He recorded eight catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns before the XFL cancelled its season earlier this month.
Lee, a depth tight end who has just one reception on the season, was let go Saturday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. The Bills had a bigger need in their secondary with two regulars being very questionable to go this week, so they had to make room for defensive back Dean Marlowe on the roster. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Lee resurface with the team once other players heal up.
The Bills have claimed Lee off waivers from the Lions, Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News reports. Lee didn't do enough in the preseason to convince the Lions to keep around a fourth tight end, but the 2015 undrafted free agent from Bowie State will do just that with the Bills, where he apparently sits behind Charles Clay, Nick O'Leary and Logan Thomas.
Lee was waived by the Lions on Saturday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. It seems the Lions will roll with three tight ends entering the regular season, where Lee is among the odd men out. Solid in the run game, Lee could be a candidate for the practice squad.
Lee logged 13 offensive snaps during the Lions' preseason loss to the Patriots on Friday. Lee also saw 10 snaps on special teams. He appears to be on the outside looking in as far as earning a roster spot goes.
