Lombardi was acquired by New Jersey from Detroit on Thursday in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick.
Lombardi had 16 goals, 42 points and 22 PIM in 47 regular-season appearances with AHL Grand Rapids in 2025-26. The 23-year-old hasn't made his NHL debut and will probably begin the 2026-27 campaign in the minors.
