The 83rd annual Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be played July 10 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. And, as always, the fans get to collectively choose the starters for each league.

Balloting to choose the starters for this summer's All-Star Game is now underway on MLB.com and in ballparks around baseball. Voting closes 11:59 p.m. ET Thursday, June 28.

And if you vote online, you can easily be a total homer, by clicking on a team name at the top, it automatically highlights all the players on the ballot from that selected team.

One of my favorite pastimes when looking at the ballot is to see the poor choices in terms of who is on it, but we're still early enough there aren't many glaring mistakes. Still, we have a few injury inclusions. Salvador Perez of the Royals has yet to play a game due to an injury, but he may be back strong before the voting is concluded. Michael Morse of the Nationals probably won't though, but you can still vote for him. You could go the fallen Red Sox route by voting for both Carl Crawford and Jacoby Ellsbury in the AL outfield. B.J. Upton hasn't played a game yet, but you can take a leap of faith and vote him, as he returns Friday.

And remember, you always have the "write-in" option at the bottom ...

Or you could, you know, try to correctly vote on merit -- which players are having the best season. If you want to do that, might I recommend waiting to use your maximum of 25 online votes until the last second? Things are constantly changing when games are played every single day, after all.
