Red Sox pitcher Chris Capuano allowed two earned runs on three hits and one walk in two innings while striking out one in his spring debut Wednesday as the Red Sox fell to the Cardinals, 8-6.
"[It] felt good out there," Capuano told MLB.com. "It was good to get my feet wet this spring and get out there in a real game. I was able to work on my pitches. Had runners on base there in the first inning, so got to work out of the stretch a little bit, got to field my position. [I] got a little bit of everything today."
Capuano could be a factor in the team's rotation plans with Ryan Dempster out for the season and with Jake Peavy potentially needing a DL stint due to his injured finger.
