Cubs pitcher Dallas Beeler had his third injury rehab appearance with Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday. Beeler has sidelined since spring training with biceps tendonitis and a shoulder impingement.
Beeler continued to struggle with his command. He threw just 48 strikes in 82 pitches and walked two without striking anyone out.
In three starts spanning 11 1/3 innings, Beeler has walked nine and allowed 16 hits, a hit batter and a wild pitch. He's 0-2 at Iowa with a 9.53 ERA.
"I just couldn't find the release point on the fastball," Beeler said after his second start, per the Des Moines Register.
"He has to throw strikes and get early-count swings to be successful," Iowa manager Marty Pevey said. "If he gets deeper into the count, then he's not as successful."
