Astros infield prospect Delino DeShields was slated to begin limited baseball activities Tuesday after seeing a specialist Monday, the Houston Chronicle reports.
DeShields was hit in the face with a pitch last week, suffering a fractured cheekbone. "With a non displaced fracture, sometimes those things can heal up pretty quickly," general manager Jeff Luhnow said. "We’ll wait and see. He’s going to start some activities as tolerated."
DeShields may be able to expedite his return with the help of a protective mask, though the team isn't committed to going that route with the prospect.
